5 Things From Pink Cake Pops to Breakfast Flowers

Hi loves!
I'm a sucker for cute girly things that bring a little serenity and or joy to my life! I think its important to allow yourself to enjoy in a little indulgent once in awhile whether it's by purchasing a nice candle to warm up your surroundings, buying a little something extra to add to an outfit, eating a piece of cake, or having a little night out with the someone you love :) Here are some things that brought little pieces of heaven to me this past week! Maybe they can inspire you guys to also allow yourselves some if your own indulgences this week!

Technically this is 3 things on one picture, but I love my little corner coffee table set up! I decorated it to represent a winter-wonderland sort of feel :)

I've been loving this white lace halter bra from Free People! I like adding it to my bulky oversize sweaters to add a subtle touch of femininity

If you haven't had the birthday cake, Cake Pop from Starbucks, you're missing out. Not only is it cute and PINK but it's soooooo delicious too. Yum!

Justin and I went "Glow Bowling" this weekend! I sacrificed comfort and forced myself to use the 10lb one just because it was pink ;) lol

The best part of my week was when Justin served me this :) It's a fried egg in a green pepper made to look like a yummy little Daisy (my favorite flower) He said he went through two other eggs before getting it just right! Sweet little things like this is why I love him and feel so lucky :) <3 Note the Valentine Napkin!

What little things make your week special?

2013 Styles Resolutions!

                            Happy New Year!!

I was recently inspired by Evelina from her channel EveliniCutza to do a Style Resolution!!
I already had some things I planned to accomplish fashion wise in this new year, so I though why not share with my subscribers and followers so that YOU, my little kittens can hold me accountable!!! I'm constantly looking for ways to not only better myself but also challenge my style! This year I have some pretty big goals for myself that I want to accomplish so that I can look back in 2014 and hopefully say, I did okay :) So here we go...

1) Bulk up on Essentials!

I am in a place where I 100% know exactly what my essential must haves are! ((Find out what my essentials are here!) I have experimented with items enough that I feel I can now expand on by buying a few back ups! This way I have less stress in the morning thinking oh crap my favorite white tank top is in the wash or my only pair of basic black leggings are ripped!! :-o

2) Finish Organizing My Clothes/Closet!

I have been very bad about this in the past and I have to say having clothes all over the place makes for an extremely frustrating morning!!! SHAME ON ME! I already got a little head start on this organization disaster a couple days before the new year by finally storing my summer clothes away... I know I know you don't have to say anything, I know what you're thinking!... My dressers are all done and actually make sense know but I MUST tackle my closet! So that's next on the list :)

3) Challenge My Style with some more EDGE!

I have always been very inspired by the 90's grundge looks since I was little. But you would never know that by looking at my style! Starting in 09' I started to added the slightest touches of edgy to my look with little accsessories here and there, maybe a heel with straps all over. However even though I explain my style as feminine with a touch of edge, I don't know if most others would.... I mean it's been a very small 'touch"... So I have decided I want to start to implement this into my style some more but in MY way! So you guys will see how I choose to do that in upcoming looks! :)

4) Implement More Colors and Patterns into my Style!

This is actually the hardest thing for me. I am very very stubborn when it comes to color, I know how to shop for items that withstand time and that's by keeping it NEUTRAL! But I have mastered that in 2012 so much so that....it's all I have :-/ It's time for a little more fun! I stepped my toes into the colorful side of fashion a little this past spring and summer with colored jeans and brighter tops but when my friends start telling me I'm known as someone who wears mostly creams and pinks I decided NO, this must change!!!
As for patterns, I've been having a lot of fun playing with them this past fall so I want definitely want to continue that throughout the year!

5) Make a Creative Video!

This is the most important one for me and my Channel! I have been doing a lot of research on this particular goal and it's something that I am holding very near and dear to my heart. Here's why: All day no matter where I am my mind is constantly thinking up ideas, this is how I've always been & have been told by many that I am a chronic day dreamer... I have what I like to think of as a very vivid and creative imagination and I want to be able to share that with you guys! I'm always getting inspired by fashion, art, people, and nature. One of the reasons I started to make videos on YouTube was because I waned to share my knowledge of fashion and maybe help others! But I also wanted to eventually learn how to take what ideas I have in my head and be able to somewhat show you guys that through an amazing video with the goal to inspire people a little more. Even if it's only one person I am pleased :)
Making videos for you guys has been my escape from the stresses of the world where I can just sit in front of the camera and talk fashion with you all! But for the longest time I have wanted to do something a little more creative! I want to eventually be able to use my channel as a platform to stage my creativity through these projects! With that said.... this is something that could take time, yes I have done a lot of research and made some upgrades to my software but it may start out very small but hopefully I will get at least one creative inspiring video out of it!

Whew!! Okay so now that you guys know all my Style Resolutions you have my permission to harp on me about them!! But remember the last one takes a LOT of work so give me some slack on that one ;)

But now I have homework for guys too!! You are not getting off that easy kiddos! If you have read this post and love fashion then I want you to go to your closet, look through past pictures or OOTD's and take a good look at your wardrobe and then come up with your own style resolutions! It can be anything! Then come back here and comment below what your Style Resolutions list is! Fashion is an art form and a way that we express ourselves, so let's all help inspire each other in 2013! Let's hold ourselves accountable so that we can take a look back at the end of this year and say I did that!

Hopefully you will all join me on this style journey I've committed too and we shall see where it takes us! :)

How to Style an Oversize Sweater

I think it goes without saying that, oversize sweaters are a huge must have this fall & winter. There is nothing more comfy and cozy than a big sweater that protects you from chilly days & also allows you to have that extra cupcake...

However an oversize sweater can dangerously walk the line between looking like a chic trendsetter to a frumpy grandma... so with that said I put together a quick video of some ways I myself choose to style this look!
Enjoy & Stay Chic!

5 Things Starbucks with a Dash of Zen

Hello loves! I'm so sorry it's been a month since I've posted on here!! It has been a busy month for me, however I am still always very active on my YouTube Chanel, posting new videos every week! So if I haven't made a new post here in a bit you can always stop by my channel :)

But I have not forgotten about my lovely blog followers! I decided this Sunday needed a 5 things post, so grab a hot beverage, warm blanket, & enjoy!

At Starbucks with Justin. We treated ourselves to a Pumpkin Spice Latte and some French Cakes... which if you have not tried you MUST they are delish!

I loving the idea of mixed patterns lately...when done just right it can look quite lovely!
My new winter print sweater paired with my baby pink leopard printed scarf was no exception! The subtlety of the light pink mixed with hints of grey complemented the sweater pretty well.

My new little friend! He instantly brings some playful sophistication to my looks :)

My inspirational Green Tea is just so wise... & inspiring! Haha.
I actually really enjoy these little quotes I get with my daily cup of Yogi Tea.
Because we all could use a little sense of zen in our day to day life ;)

This is from a trip to an amazing diner Justin & I traveled to last weekend! I ordered what was probably the best tasting pancake I have ever had in my entire life! It was the size of my head and I had to give about half of it to Justin before I exploded, but it was amazing! It's a pumpkin pancake with raisinets inside topped off with their homemade whip cream! YUM!
They had SO many cool antiques there. Their walls are literally filled top to bottom with retro tin signs and other marvels! If we go back I will be sure to take more pics for you guys!

Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday!

Golden Autumn Cupcake

I don't know why but I always loved making cupcakes. Probably because they're like cute little pieces of heaven wrapped in a colorful piece of tin!
I made these Pumpkin cupcakes a couple weeks ago, and they were a huge hit so I will be making them again for a Halloween party next weekend. In the meantime I thought it would be fun to share what I did too make these yummy little treats adorned in golden sprinkles!
P.S. These are not made from scratch by any means, just a simple, easy, fun little cupcake! :)

I bought everything from Hannaford except for the cupcake holders which I got from TJMaxx!

Pillsbury Quick Bread Pumpkin Mix
Easy and so delicious! Just add eggs, water, and oil. One box is enough for 12 regular sized cupcakes.

Betty Crocker Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting
This is my favorite store bought frosting to use! You just stir it up in the container for about 30 seconds then it spreads so smoothly not to mention it's really yummy!

Cake Mate Cupcake Gems in Gold!
I love these metallic sprinkles they also make them in solver which I have used before. They instantly make your cupcakes pretty and sparkly! I always get a lot of, "These are so cool!", "Aw so pretty!", and "Are these Silver/Gold Sprinkles?!"

Ghiradelli Premium Baking Chips Mini Chips
Wilton Baking Cups
I use the mini semi-sweet chips so they don't take away from the rest of the cupcake leaving more room for sprinkles!
I loved these Gold Aluminum Cupcake cups because they didn't get that brown burnt look like the paper ones do.

It looks weird now but it took every ounce of strength for me to not eat this once it was all blended. All I could smell was delicious Pumpkin!

A tip I learned from a baking class I took, is use an ice cream scoop for filling up the cups. As you can probably see from this picture I forgot something important....

In the oven they go WITH my baking cups :p
I baked these according to the direction, took about 20 minutes.

Best eaten while still warm!
These barely lasted 3 days before everyone including myself devoured them!

So if you want an quick and easy treat for a holiday party or maybe just because, try this out! It's simple but looks like you put in the effort when choosing a them, for instance gold baking cups paired with gold sprinkles, and a little touch of chocolate :)

Happy Cupcake Sunday! Let me know if you give these a Try, I highly recommend it!

Pretty Little Things

Here's a list of five "pretty things" in my life that make me feel happy and humbled. :) Enjoy!

One of my favorite coffee mugs... leopard printed caffeine!

I am in love with this new nail color, been wearing it all week.
Essie in A-List

My little festive Halloween corner! I love cute smiley boo ghosts things. And this year I found a silver glittery faux candle...bonus! :)

I prefer cupcake &/or frosting scents for candles. When I saw a pumpkin cupcake candle I almost passed out from excitement. This candle smells exactly like a pumpkin cupcake!

My little fur baby, Jezzy. She's the sweetest kitty, I've had her since I was 10, and that little face always makes me happy <3 (cat lady alert) lol

What are some of your "pretty little things" that make you happy?!?

Tonight let's all think pretty little thoughts :)

 Love,
 Kaylee
