Post Holiday Diet Tips | LifeStylesMeow

Hi girly's!

So I'm going to start posting more about my lifestyle tips on here for you all. I wanted to be able to share my diet, fitness, skin and hair care tips that I've discovered over the years in hopes it may be beneficial to some of you loves! I will of course still be posting mainly about fashion so in order to differentiate the two topics I naturally I decided to refer to these posts as 'LifeStylesMeow', mainly because it sounded cute! he he.

So here is my very first LifeStylesMeow kickoff post! I hope you Enjoy!

So the Holidays are over which has a tendency to leave most of us feeling a little guilty about all of the chocolate, ham, and other tasty yet high calorie foods we consumed. Now before you start kicking yourself for your indulgences, I have a few little tips that may help bring both the bloat and the guilt down a bit! These are the steps I take every time I have a day of indulgence. So feel free to grab a cup of Green Tea (for it's antioxidant benefits that is!) and take note of some healthy and refreshing ways to detox your beautiful body.

Step 1.

Have a good Breakfast

Most people make the horrible mistake of waking up the next morning, and taking a vow that they'll eat super light all day, only to find themselves at standing in front of the fridge at 1 AM scarfing down any and all leftovers found.... or at least that's in my case.

Even if you do succeed in eating close to nothing the next day it WILL catch up to you one way or another. So what I do to avoid this is simply go back to my regular morning breakfast that I would typically have. I'm not talking a bowl of weaties, I'm talking a breakfast that's filling, healthy, and energizing!

I highly recommend trying out my everyday breakfast which leaves you feeling satisfied, energized, and is helpful in breaking down fats! I will do a whole post on all the benefits of this delicious treat in the near future but in the meantime here is my super easy "recipe" if you want to call it that, haha.

-Kaylee's breakfast of the champions!

2 Packets of Quaker Oats Raisin & Spice Oatmeal
Unsweetend Almond Milk
Spoonful of Justin's Maple Almond Butter
Sprinkle of Ground Cinnamon

Step 2.

Green Tea

Drinking Green Tea not only speeds up your metabolism but it also helps to detox your body! I like to think of it as a good way to hit the reset button in your tummy. After days of eating heavy foods I will typically drink anywhere between 4-8 cups!

Step 3.

Veggies & Fruits Galore

I personally love certain fruits and veggies, so eating them is a way of life for me. It wasn't always this way though, so don't feel bad if you can't name your top five favorites. I do however recommend you find out, like today! Eating fruits and veggies after a day of junk is the best thing for your beautiful body and it will thank you by regulating your digestive track and leaving you feeling rejuvenated! There are many ways you can incorporate veggies and fruits into your diet with salads, smoothies, or just simply snacking on a carrot.

Step 4.

The Secret of Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider vinegar has a ton of benefits for your body, especially when it comes to bringing down tummy bloat. It boosts your metabolism, provides digestive enzymes, regulates your blood sugar levels (JUST what you need after the holidays), and helps you stay in control of your apatite. There are a lot of light and healthy ways to use Apple Cider Vinegar. Here's a couple:

-The Drink!
4 oz. of an organic no added sugar Juice
1 Tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar
1-3 Ice Cubes
Stir Well

-Salad Dressings
2 Tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tbsp of Honey
1 Sqeezes Lemon Wedge
A dash of Sea salt to taste
Mix and enjoy over a fresh salad

Step 5.

Step away from the Leftovers

Here's my mantra with leftovers: If you made it give it away, If you're offered it turn it away!
Leftovers are the ultimate temptation that only about 1 out of 10 people are strong enough to resist. If you're not one of those people it's okay, I'm not either so why tease ourselves right? I'm not interested in leftovers when they're being offered. What's better is to cut off all ties to holiday food and get right back into your usual eating habits or better!

Step 6.

Water, Water, Water!

I'm not going to spend a ton of time going into why water is an essential step to aiding your body in recovering from binge eating, simply because you can find articles on this everywhere! My tip to you however is that you get the biggest nalgene or sports bottle you have, keep it filled up, and by your side at all times during the day. In my experience if you don't have water near you all day then you're not going to get that recommended 8 glasses a day (FYI everyone's recommendation is different but that's for another time). However keeping it by you all day, you will find yourself reaching for it unconsciously. But keep that sucker filled!

What are some ways that you like to detox from the holidays? Share your tips and recipes with the rest of us below!

Let me know if you like these kinds of posts and leave requests for future ones! I love you all and end your day knowing that you are all beautiful to me :)

Stay Healthy,

  1. HI! I love the idea of Your tips for staying healthy and in shape. I love downing glasses of water with lemon juice on everyday basis and that helps me after some days of being "naughty". Cheers!

  2. Oh and I can also recommend having kiwi fruit and grapefruit after indulging too much. As for drinks- pu erh tea is also beneficial :) Also chamomile tea helps with bloating!

    1. Thank you! I will be trying the chamomile tea next time!
